Najia Khalil
Coordinator and Muslim Chaplain
Najia Khalil has served as Coordinator of House of Sakinah Women Support Centre since 2013, working alongside the Managing Director and the House of Sakinah team to support the organisation's operations, community programs, volunteer engagement, and service delivery. She is committed to supporting women and families through compassionate, culturally responsive, and faith-based services.
Alongside her volunteer role at House of Sakinah, Najia currently works part-time as a Prepare4Practice Facilitator, supporting emerging community service practitioners as they develop professional skills and confidence.
Najia has completed Clinical Pastoral Education in Islamic Chaplaincy and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Islamic Psychology, strengthening her ability to provide faith-informed pastoral care and community support. She also completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the International Islamic University Malaysia, with additional studies in Islamic Law and Aqeedah.
Over the years, Najia has worked and gained experience across the community, business, and government sectors in administration, graphic design, event management, mediation, and community support. She has worked with dedicated teams to deliver community initiatives and events, supervise volunteers, and support organisational administration. Her extensive board experience reflects a lifelong commitment to community leadership, governance, and service.

Asiya A Mirza

Asiya joined House of Sakinah in 2024 as Operations Manager, bringing over 15 years of experience in leadership, management, compliance, and community services.
She plays a key role in strengthening organisational systems, service delivery, governance, and operational excellence, ensuring the organisation continues to deliver high-quality support to women and families.
Asiya is a Certified Practising Counsellor registered with PACFA and ACA and specialises in couples counselling using the Gottman Method.
As a Senior Case Manager and Counsellor, she provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and faith-sensitive support to clients from diverse backgrounds.
Fluent in three languages, she is committed to creating safe and empowering spaces for those seeking support.
Asiya holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, Postgraduate Certificate in Social Science, Diploma of Community Services (Case Management), and Diploma in Islamic Shariah. She has also undertaken studies towards a Bachelor of Islamic Studies and is currently pursuing a Diploma in Taaleem-ul-Quran and Tafsir.
Alongside her professional work, Asiya has held several volunteer leadership roles, including serving as the Australian National Representative for the International Open University and leading the Sydney student committee. Her passion for community service, education, and empowerment continues to guide her work at House of Sakinah.
Asima Anis
Event Manager and Administration Officer
Asima is an enthusiastic individual who has been working with House of Sakinah since 2021. She has earned a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and has experience working with young children. She has earned a Certificate III in Business Administration and provides administrative support to the organisation. She also works as an event manager and serves as national coordinator for Sakinah for Seniors program. She shares a real desire to work with the elderly and find true happiness in helping the community.
Sehrish Shoaib
Finance manager Β and Administration assistant
Sehrish joined House of Sakinah in 2023, where she supports women in crisis through case management, finance assistance, and administrative assistance.
Sehrish brings a strong background in finance and customer service, holds a masterβs in business administration, a Certificate IV in Accounting and brings over five years of experience in national banks across customer service, management, compliance and banking operations sectors. Her background in finance and customer service has equipped her to provide comprehensive financial support as well as strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
At House of Sakinah, Sehrish plays a versatile role, providing crucial support in case management, finance assistance, and administrative functions. She is committed to offering compassionate, practical support to help clients navigate challenging situations and connect with essential resources. Her dedication and attention to detail ensure the effective delivery of both client support and internal operations, embodying the organisationβs values of excellence and community care.
Rubinah Ahmad
IT Support officer and event coordinator assistant
Rubinah joined House of Sakinah in 2020 as the IT Support, ensuring that the organisationβs technology needs are met and systems run smoothly. In addition to her IT role, she is the Event coordinator, bringing creativity and precision to the planning and execution of community events. Her organisational expertise ensures every gathering is memorable and tailored to the needs of participants, fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
Rubinah has studied graphic design and is currently pursuing a diploma in event management, further enhancing her skills to support her event coordination role.
Outside of her professional work, she volunteers her skills for various non-profit organisations, including the Australian MEFF Consortium and the Australasian Muslim Times (AMUST). Her commitment to community service has been recognised with accolades such as Muslim Volunteer of the Year (2024) and Not-for-Profit Technology Volunteer of the Year (2022).
Mahe Salah

Mahe Salah Joined House of Sakinah team in 2024. She is a certified event and project manager with over 30 years of experience and holds a Diploma in event management. Mahe leads the social media team at House of Sakinah, where she is responsible for designing, planning, and creating engaging content across various platforms. Her leadership ensures a cohesive digital strategy that amplifies the organisationβs message and connects with the wider community.
She also has a strong business background, with expertise in e-commerce, retail, and procurement. Mahe has successfully overseen conferences, exhibitions, and community-focused events from planning to execution.
