Sakinah for Seniors
Sakinah for Seniors Program
The Sakinah for Seniors Program is a monthly initiative dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing and social inclusion of seniors by providing a safe, welcoming, and culturally sensitive space. Currently active across Mount Druitt, Campbelltown, Bankstown, and Perth, the program offers seniors the opportunity to connect, learn, and feel valued through light entertainment, group bonding, Quran recitation, short spiritual talks, and community picnics. Informational sessions on using modern devices, health and wellness, and navigating retirement or aged care services further support their independence and quality of life. To make participation easier, door-to-door pick-up and drop-off transport is provided, ensuring seniors can engage with confidence and ease.

I am deeply grateful to Sister Asima and the beautiful sisters at House of Sakinah for their incredible support. Through this programme, I’ve learned how to use email, Skype, and WhatsApp—something I never imagined I could do on my own. It’s more than just learning technology; it has helped me stay connected with my loved ones overseas. I no longer feel left behind, and that means everything to me.
