National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the individuals who generously give their time, skills, and compassion to strengthen our community. At House of Sakinah Women Support Centre, we were delighted to mark this special occasion during our Seniors Mother’s Day Celebration, bringing together volunteers, seniors, mothers, and community members for a meaningful day of appreciation and connection.
βAllah will help the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother.β
β Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2699
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From supporting programs and events to providing practical assistance and compassionate care, their dedication helps us create positive change in the lives of women, families, and seniors across our community.
As part of the celebration, we proudly presented Certificates of Appreciation to our volunteers in recognition of their commitment and service. While no certificate can fully capture the impact they make, it serves as a small token of our gratitude for the countless hours, energy, and kindness they contribute throughout the year. Each Volunteer was presented by a beautiful Gift Bag sponsored by our supporter FOODBANK
The event also provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day with our senior community members. Filled with laughter, conversation, and shared experiences, the gathering highlighted the importance of connection, respect, and community spirit. It was heartwarming to see volunteers and seniors come together, creating memorable moments and strengthening the bonds that make our community so special.
At House of Sakinah, we believe that volunteering is more than giving timeβit is about creating hope, building relationships, and making a lasting difference in the lives of others. Our volunteers embody these values every day, and we are deeply grateful for their ongoing support.
We extend our sincere thanks to every volunteer, participant, and supporter who helped make this celebration a success. Your generosity, dedication, and community spirit continue to inspire us and help us serve those who need it most.
As we celebrate National Volunteer Week 2026, we invite others to consider joining our volunteer family. Together, we can continue building a stronger, more connected, and compassionate community.
