Honouring Our Mothers and Seniors: A Special Day of Celebration

On 21 May 2026, House of Sakinah Women Support Centre was delighted to host a special Mother’s Day celebration for our seniors at Mount Druitt —a day dedicated to honouring the mothers, grandmothers, and elders who have given so much to their families and communities.

The event brought together our seniors for a heartwarming day filled with friendship, laughter, and meaningful connection. Guests enjoyed a delicious luncheon, participated in fun games and activities, and shared precious moments with one another in a welcoming and supportive environment.

At House of Sakinah, we believe our seniors are a source of wisdom, strength, and inspiration. Events like these provide an opportunity to celebrate their contributions, reduce social isolation, and create lasting memories within a caring community.

A special highlight of the day was the distribution of beautiful Mother’s Day gift bags, generously sponsored by Foodbank Australia. Each gift bag contained thoughtful wellness and self-care items, bringing smiles and excitement to our senior mothers and making them feel truly appreciated.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Foodbank Australia for their generous support, and to everyone who helped make this celebration possible. Seeing the joy on the faces of our seniors was a wonderful reminder of the importance of community, connection, and showing appreciation for those who have paved the way for us.
